Coconut is certainly the ingredient that we most often speak of in the field of hair care. What are its virtues and how to use it? Let's discover this precious ally for healthy hair.

And in terms of care, there is an almost magical ingredient on which you can count: coconut oil!

 

What are the benefits of coconut oil for hair?

Rich in fatty acids, lauric acid, iron and vitamins E and K, coconut oil is a condensed health for hair. And since it is able to infiltrate and penetrate the hair fiber in depth, its hydration power is powerful.
Under the effect of coconut oil, the hair is nourished and becomes softer, shiny and flexible. In addition to nourishing, moisturizing and smoothing hair, coconut oil also protects it from external aggressions such as sun and pollution.
Thanks to its antibacterial, sanitizing and antifungal properties, coconut oil is also beneficial for the scalp. Traditionally used to eliminate lice, it would also participate in the treatment of dandruff by hydrating the epidermis.

 

 

Coconut oil: for what type (s) of hair?

For the recipe, nothing's easier :

 

  • If your coconut oil is in the form of butter or if it has solidified, first pass it for a few seconds in the microwave or in a double boiler to liquefy it.
  • Then dip your fingers in cold or lukewarm oil and soak your whole hair, one wick at a time.
  • Wrap your hair coated with coconut oil in a towel and let the treatment stand for a few hours or, ideally, overnight.
  • Then wash your hair in one or two shampoos. Favor a soft shampoo so as not to attack the hair fiber and to avoid losing all the benefits of the mask.

 

In case of dandruff, do not hesitate to apply coconut oil also on your scalp and gently massage it with your fingertips.
If you have them greasy hair, avoid the roots and focus on lengths and tips.


If Vbone hair is very dry, add avocado to the recipe. Crush avocado flesh until you get a smooth and homogeneous texture, lumps without lumps and add a large tablespoon of coconut oil. Apply everything on your hair and leave between 30 minutes and an hour.


Note: even if these treatments are beneficial for the hair, it cannot replace and can never compensate for a healthy and balanced diet. The health of the hair depends above all on a good intake of vitamins and minerals, essential to hair fiber and scalp.
